Hi friends,
I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I’m in a group exhibition at Kate Werble Gallery that opens today, Thursday, April 10, from 6-8pm. The show is curated by Kate and Thalassa Balanis.
I’m showing part of a collection I’ve been gathering since the last year Jaden lived at home, 2022, saving pieces of each dinner around our kitchen table. Since kindergarten, aka as long as I can remember, I’ve been in an active battle with the way my mind prioritizes some memories and drop others. I want to keep it all; the smells, the names of the doormen, every eyelash my babies lost, the seeds that cling to my socks. This collection, which I call Swan Song, helps me hold those habitual moments. I’d guess you can relate.
From the gallery: “This exhibition takes its title from the William Blake poem, “The Tyger” to emphasize the artists way of working; a duality between innocence and experience. Each artist has a certain intuitive way of working so that their artwork ends up as its own hypnotic object, alluding to the supernatural.”
Love y’all. Keep on burning bright. ✨
